Born in Milan, she graduated in History of the critic of art at the Statale University of Milan. From 1996 to 2008 she taught “Theory and history of industrial design” at the Polytechnic of Milan and since 2001 “History of decorative arts and history of design” at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera.

In Februrary 2010 she has been nominated President of I.S.I.A. in Faenza (Italy).From the April 2010 she is been nominated in the board of FHD, Fundaciò Història del Disseney (Barcelona).She attended the constitution of the DcomeDesign Association and she has been elected President and she is member of AISD, Italian Association of Historians of design. From July 2012 is part of the board of the Foundation of the Triennale’s Museum, designated from the Public Administration of Milan.
Critic and historian of art and design she published numerous studies on the topics of industrial design and of decorative/applied arts, recovering the roots of their modern spread in the Bienniali of Monza and the Trienniali of Milan: the first one, Storia e cronaca della Triennale (Longanesi 1978).
She cured numerous reviews and conventions on the decorative arts and the new design using new media like video and the CD rom (also for the Lombardia Region, 1995). With Victor Margolin and Federick Wildaghen she planned and realized the first International Convention of the historians of the design, Tradition and Modernism: design 1918-1940, Milan, Museum of Science and the Technique, May 1987 of which she cured the Atti (edition L’Arca).
She collaborated and collaborates to Italian daily paper (“Il Giorno”, “Il Sole 24 ore”, “Il Mattino” di Napoli), to periodicals of cultural politics (“Il Moderno”), and to Italian and foreign magazines of the field.
