Maria Canella curator 

Maria Canella graduated in italian Risorgimento history with Prof. Franco della Peruta, doctor of research in history of European society, and fellow and contract professor for Milano’s Università degli Studi history of science and historic documentation department; she regularly cooperates with the Risorgimento History, Contemporary History, Modern History, History of Ancient Italian States and Social Entretainment History chairs, and is a contract professor for the Fashion Design faculty of Milano’s Politecnico university. One of her favourite areas is the history of Milano’s and Lombardia’s territory in the XIX and XX centuries, with a special focus on functional properties such as public and residential buildings, cemeteries, correctional institutes, sports facilities and industrial complexes.
She also specialises in fashion history, as Lombardia’s regional cooridnator for the national “XIX century fashion archives” project. On the fashion subject, she has co-authored numerous books and articles, curated several 17th-19th century Lombardia history workshops, co-organised historical exhibitions (“Oh giornate del nostro riscatto ! Milano dalla Restaurazione alle Cinque giornate”, Milano 1998; “L’età dei Visconti e degli Sforza 1277-1535″, Milano 2001; “I volti di Carlo Cattaneo (1801-1869). Un grande italiano del Risorgimento”, Milano 2001; “La città borghese.
